The Age of Selfish Altruism: Why New Values are Killing Consumerism

The Age of Selfish Altruism: Why New Values Are Killing Consumerism - Alan Fairnington A must read! "Several factors are now combining to create a new "post-consumer" society in the twenty-first century. This doesn't mean that people won't continue to consume, but what they consume, why they consume and how much they consume will definitely change."

A web site, smartlygreen.com will allow us to become selfishly altruistic without any real effort.

Mostly a marketing type book on how companies will have to change along with consumers if they want to keep their market share. Not text book like at all, interesting chapters on choices we, as consumers, make every day.

My favorite quote in the book:

"The ordinary objects of human endeavor - property, outward success, luxury - have always seemed to me contemtible." - Albert Einstein.
