The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains - Nicholas G. Carr "As we enjoy the Net's bounties, are we sacrificing our ability to read and think deeply?" That is the question this book attempts to answer. Definitely and interesting read, would recommend to anyone who spends a lot of time on the net....

As we use the net more and more, we tend to read less print publications,, particularly newspapers and magazines, but also books. The author claims that heavy net usage is changing our brains and has neurological consequences. The net becomes our memory.... Forget the old days of memorization, any info is now instantly available with a few mouse clicks.

"the more we use the Web, the more we train our brain to be distracted - to process information very quickly and very efficiently but without sustained attention. That helps explain why many of us find it hard to concentrate even when we are away from our computers."
